FREE INTRODUCTORY SESSION

Let's get to know each other. This is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation where we can explore whether we're a good fit to work together. There are no strings attached—just an opportunity to ask questions, share what you're looking for, and see if spiritual companioning with me feels right for your journey.

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION & COMPANIONING

Spiritual direction is sacred space for paying attention—to your story, your longings, the movement of Love in your life, and the truth that's trying to surface. I companion you as you listen to your own inner wisdom and notice the fingerprints of Divine Love woven through your story. Together we navigate transitions, deepen contemplative practice, and sort through what's yours and what was only ever about control.
(I use both terms—"spiritual direction" is more widely known, while "companioning" better reflects my approach: walking alongside you rather than directing from a hierarchical position.)

It's always led by how YOU want to proceed. You're at the helm. I might make suggestions or ask questions, but it's your time, your journey, your pace.

What we do together:
-
Create trauma-aware space where all of you is welcome
-
Listen for what wants to emerge in your story through contemplative practices
-
Process spiritual abuse and religious trauma with tenderness
-
Learn embodied practices that integrate head, heart, and nervous system
-
Build bridges between where you've been and where you're being called
-
Tend the walled-off places that need healing

I am a lay spiritual director and trauma-informed spiritual companion. Like all spiritual directors, I bring my own particular flavor—one shaped by my journey out of coercive religious systems and my commitment to trauma-informed care.
I am not a pastor teaching from religious authority. I am not a therapist providing clinical care. I am a companion walking alongside you as you explore your own relationship with the Divine, heal from spiritual wounds, and discover what brings life and flourishing.
Take what serves you. Leave what doesn't. Your discernment is trusted here.

Rhythm: Usually once a month, though some people find bi-weekly sessions helpful at the beginning of our work together. We'll find what works for you.

INNER HEALING
Inner healing is a psychology-informed, spiritually-grounded approach to becoming whole. Drawing on parts work (Internal Family Systems) and trauma-informed practices rooted in the Imago Dei Ministries model, we create safe space for all parts of yourself—your younger selves, your protectors, your wounded parts—to come into the presence of Divine Love.

This isn't about spiritual warfare, breaking curses, or formulaic prayer ministry. It's about integration. When we've experienced trauma or shame, parts of us can fragment or get stuck in survival patterns. Healing happens as we gently help these parts come out of the past and into present awareness of safety and love. You learn to listen to your inner world, address the judgments and fears keeping you stuck, and facilitate your own healing with Divine Love's gentle guidance.

This is integrative work—honoring that your body, emotions, mind, spirit, and relationships are all beautifully connected. I believe good theology is rooted in good psychology, and true healing honors your whole self.

Inner healing often naturally emerges in spiritual direction sessions, though some people work with a spiritual director who doesn't offer this specific approach. I'm trained in the Imago Dei Ministries integration healing model.

HEALTH COACHING

With 18+ years as a Certified First Line Therapy Coach, I bring trauma-informed education about how our bodies, brains, and nervous systems hold and process trauma. This work is deeply connected to my theological conviction that bodies matter—that we are integrated beings whose physical, emotional, and spiritual lives cannot be separated.
Too often, religious systems have taught us to distrust our bodies, override our physical needs, or treat embodiment as less important than spiritual concerns. My health coaching challenges that functional gnosticism by helping you understand the biology of stress, regulation, and how our bodies respond to and integrate traumatic experiences.
What we explore together:
-
Understanding your nervous system and stress response system
-
Stress management and regulation techniques
-
Grounding practices
-
Expanding your window of tolerance
-
Basic emotional processing
-
How our bodies process and respond to stress and trauma
As relevant to our conversations, I often have educational resources or information about wellness topics that naturally arise in our work together. This could include information about sleep hygiene, nutrition, stress management, hormones and health transitions, supplements or functional medicine approaches, and resources about types of practitioners who might be helpful. This is always educational information you can explore with your healthcare providers—not medical advice or treatment.
Often my role is helping you recognize when you need specialized support and connecting you with appropriate practitioners. I may introduce concepts from trauma therapy or functional medicine to help you understand what's available, then encourage you to build your team of specialists.
Why This Matters for Spiritual Healing:
We can't separate our physical wellbeing from our spiritual and emotional lives. When your nervous system is chronically dysregulated, it's harder to access your inner wisdom, hear the movement of Divine Love, or stay present to what wants to emerge in your healing journey. When you understand what's happening in your body and learn to work with your nervous system rather than against it, spiritual companioning and inner healing deepen naturally.

This isn't about "adding" body awareness to spiritual work—it's recognizing that incarnation means embodiment matters. Jesus was radically embodied. Your body is not an obstacle to spiritual growth; it's the very place where transformation happens.
I'm completely comfortable drawing from all my tools—we can integrate whatever serves your wholeness best.

IMPORTANT DISTINCTIONS
Spiritual companioning is a contemplative practice where I walk alongside you as you explore your relationship with the Divine, navigate faith transitions, heal from spiritual wounds, and discover what brings life and flourishing. This work may include spiritual direction, inner healing (based on the Imago Dei Ministries model), and trauma-informed education about the nervous system and embodied healing.
What This Is Not:
I am not a licensed therapist and do not provide psychotherapy, mental health treatment, or clinical care. Spiritual companioning is not a substitute for professional mental health treatment.
I am not a medical professional and do not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or advice. All health-related information I share (about sleep, nutrition, hormones, supplements, nervous system function, etc.) is educational only. You must consult with qualified healthcare providers before making any health-related changes.
I am not a pastor and do not teach from religious authority or prescribe beliefs. I share tools, frameworks, and perspectives that have helped me and others, but you are always the ultimate authority on your own journey.
When You Need Additional Support:
Spiritual companioning works best alongside professional therapy when you have active mental health needs. If you're in crisis, experiencing recent trauma, have severe symptoms, or have mental health diagnoses that might make inner healing work unsafe (such as severe dissociative disorders, active psychosis, or unmanaged bipolar disorder), please work with a licensed therapist first or concurrently.

I'm not here to gatekeep—I want this work to be accessible. But I also want you to have the right support for your needs. If you're unsure whether spiritual companioning is appropriate for you right now, let's discuss it in our free introductory session.
Your Responsibility:
You are solely responsible for your own wellbeing and for all decisions, choices, and actions arising from our work together—including how you use any information, resources, or practices shared during our sessions. I make no guarantees about specific outcomes or results. Each person's journey is unique.

Take what serves you. Leave what doesn't. Your discernment is trusted here.

GROUP COMPANIONING & COMMUNITY
A space to belong, process, and grow together
Sometimes we need more than individual work—we need community. A place where we're not alone in our questions, our rethinking, our healing. Where we can witness each other's journeys and be witnessed in return.
I'm creating an online community space for group spiritual companioning—a blend of teaching, contemplative practice, shared processing, and genuine fellowship for those navigating faith transitions, healing from religious trauma, and discovering what it means to be beloved.
What We'll Explore Together
Our gatherings will be anchored in substance—working through carefully selected books, exploring embodied spiritual practices, engaging in group spiritual direction, and creating space for the questions and discussion. Some sessions might focus on specific teachings about the nervous system, trauma-informed spirituality, or contemplative practices. Others will be more open, following where the Spirit and the group's needs lead us.
This isn't about me teaching at you from a position of authority. It's about learning together, processing together, and discovering that we're not alone in the wilderness.
The Community Space
Between our live calls, you'll have access to a private online group where you can connect with others, continue conversations, ask questions, and find support. This is where ongoing relationships deepen—the "me too" moments, the resources shared, the gentle encouragement when you need it most.

Investment
This fee structure is rooted in the same trust and mutual respect that guides all my work. I believe no one should be turned away for financial reasons, and I also believe this work has value that deserves to be honored.
For ongoing 1:1 spiritual companioning clients: Free participation in group calls and community
For others: Suggested monthly donation of $10-25 via PayPal recurring payment
Here's how I think about it: The contribution should feel like a commitment—something you prioritize because this work matters to you—but not so much that it causes financial stress or keeps you from meeting basic needs.
Any amount is appreciated, though some contribution is expected to help sustain this work.
If you're interested but concerned about cost, please reach out—we'll figure it out together.
This community is growing organically. If you'd like to be notified about upcoming sessions or have questions about whether this might be a good fit for you, please contact me. I'll be in touch with details about gatherings, how to join the online space, and what to expect.
A Note About Pace and Process
I'm building this intentionally and carefully. The rapid growth of my Rivers of Love Facebook community has shown me both the deep need for this kind of space and the importance of sustainable boundaries. I want to create something that truly serves—not something that burns me out or loses the intimacy and safety that makes healing possible.
So I'm starting small, listening to what emerges, and letting this evolve organically. If that resonates with you, I'd love to have you be part of this journey.
